Technology is ever changing and technical specifications, camera codecs, and file formats are not immune to this. The management of your data from capture to ingest is crucial to the smooth running of your post production. Our team of Post Specialists and Media Operators can advise and assist with the design of an easy to manage process that will ensure the simple and painless delivery of your media. Once your rushes are in the system you can access them across the network using Avid Media Central UX allowing you to view, log and edit from a web browser.Our 3 Avid ISIS storage systems ensure your media is stored for safety and accessibility with the capacity you require for your production needs.
The world is getting smaller and everything is being achieved faster as we move towards fully digital, global, internet-enabled content creation and distribution.
Therefore when you complete your picture and audio finishing and are ready to deliver your finished content to your broadcaster and/ or distributor. We will be able to create, check and produce the appropriate DPP compliant files and any additional deliverables required
Being part of BBC Scotland provides enormous flexibility to producers especially for fast turn around and live programmes requiring playout, live VT or additional transmission support.
Ian manages the team and ensures they have the training and skills required to support post-production and broadcast in PQ.
All team members work across four main areas: Ingest, Transfer, Review & Playout, with some having additional skills and specialisms beyond this.
Gregg works across many areas, including studio recording, edit assist & live playout.
He is the lead operator for events such as the Scottish Cup, and helped set up and transmit BBC Alba when it launched.
Fiona covers transmission, studio recordings, and file delivery work. She has also acted as Team Leader in the past and has great technical skill and experience.
When Paul isn’t travelling the UK or overseas as an EVS/3Play operator he works with production teams ensuring that all programme file deliveries are being handled smoothly.
Claire is an ex-Media Manager who is experienced across all aspects of broadcast and post-production work, switching seamlessly between live TX and post workflows.
Scott has a keen interest in Sport, and has production and shooting experience with Factual and Sport. He can cover complex ingest and delivery workflows as well as live playout and studio contribution.
Scott also recently made a short film as part of the Next Generation Thinkers scheme, and is known for his easy-going, reliable approach.
Justyna is a calm, focused presence who can handle high-pressure studio shows one moment, then AS-11 file delivery the next.
She has also spent time at STV consolidating her broadcast knowledge, and can cover EVS work as well as programme playout/delivery.
David is a multi-skilled operator who can work across live TX, edit assist, and programme delivery.
David can also support the dubbing team, handling dub assist and tracklay when the need arises.
Ken has worked at the BBC, both in London and Glasgow, for over two decades. His professional approach and consistency has been demonstrated across thousands of hours of studio and outside broadcast work.
Emily has a brilliant eye for detail, is quick-thinking and able to handle the busiest days with ease.
Her confident manner and professionalism has seen her cover everything from music festivals to live sport, while also helping other departments as a Content Assistant & Artist Liaison
